Over 34.85 Lakh Odisha Farmers Get ₹697 Crore Under PM-Kisan Scheme
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that more than 34.85 lakh farmers in the state have received ₹697 crore as part of the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Speaking at a state-level event in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, the CM encouraged farmers to grow crops beyond paddy so they can make better use of government schemes and increase their income.
The event was linked to the national programme in Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred ₹20,500 crore directly to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across India through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Majhi also shared the update on social media platform X, saying: “Today, more than 34.85 lakh farmers in Odisha are receiving a total of ₹697 crore under PM-Kisan, while the Prime Minister has provided assistance to 9.7 crore farmers nationwide.”
