WASSAN serves as the resource organisation Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming and Programme Secretariat to Integrated Farming. It also supports Odisha Millets Mission and Jharkhand High Impact Mega Watershed, and other important development projects. WASSAN collaborates with a large number of NGO partners and thinks tanks, universities from abroad, state departments, and foreign universities. WASSAN has initiated work in Odisha on Agrobiodiversity. The focus is on Agrobiodiversity Registers that strengthen biodiversity management committees and preparation and documentation of Traditional Knowledge.

District Project Coordinator

Four positions for District Project Coordinators

Job Title:

District Project Coordinator – Special programme to promote millets in tribal Odisha (Odisha Millets Mission).

Coordinating with ATMA and District Administration, Line Departments. NGOs.

Locations:

Multiple Locations in Odisha

Reporting to:

Regional Coordinator

Contract Period:

The contract will last for 2 years, after a probation period of 6 months. It can be extended according to project needs.

Salary:

Based on experience, Rs.30000 to RS.40000 per Month

Job Description:

The District Coordinators are -

1. Expected to coordinate and work with NGOs, Community-based organisations and officials from the Government of line departments and district administrations in Odisha's programme districts.

2. Expected support for NGOs in millet production, marketing, and processing.

3. Assure training management, supervision regularly and handholding support.

4. Responsible for project management, both organizational and substantive. Budgeting, planning and general oversight of the project.

5. District Administration and ATMA will be responsible for reviewing the program monthly.

6. Reporting on the progress of the project will be done by the State Secretariat at State Level and ATMA District Level.

Profil of the Desired Candidate:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with MBA in Agriculture Science.

At least three years of experience in sustainable or organic farming must be gained after qualification. Experience working with millets is an advantage.

Candidates must have worked with government officials and NGOs.

The candidate must be self-motivated in inventing new ideas.

The candidate should be familiar with Ms Office. Knowledge of Gantt charts and indicator preparation will be an advantage. Basic knowledge in budgeting, accounts, and budgeting will also be helpful.

The candidate will be stationed within the district. They will need to travel extensively for field trips and will also be required to travel inside and outside Odisha according to programme requirements.

Languages:

It is essential to have a good knowledge of Odia and English, both written and spoken. Working knowledge of Hindi is an advantage.
