Students enrolled in engineering, agricultural and allied courses, nursing, diploma programs, and various trades at government institutions in the state can avail benefits from this scheme. Applicants can submit their requests through a unified scholarship portal. The scheme covers reimbursement of tuition fees, annual fees, one-time fees, hostel charges, and other fees directly deposited into the beneficiary's bank account through the direct benefit transfer mode.

Eligibility Criteria for KALIA Scholarship:

1. Beneficiary's Children Eligibility:

   - Children of eligible beneficiaries under the KALIA scheme, specifically under the components of Support to Cultivators for Cultivation and Livelihood Support to Landless Agricultural Households, qualify for the scholarship.


2. Parent's Eligibility Verification:

   - The parent of the student must be eligible under KALIA, and this eligibility is verified at the Chief District Agriculture Officer (CDAO) level.


3. Admission in Government Institution:

   - The student should secure admission in a Government institution within the State based on merit.


4. Exclusivity of Scholarship:

   - If a student is already receiving another scholarship, they need to shift to the KALIA Scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Only one scholarship can be availed.


5. Limitation to One Professional Course:

   - Students are eligible for the KALIA scholarship for one professional course only. They cannot avail the scholarship for a second professional course.


Note: Government Institutions refer to organizations established by the State Government for program implementation. Central Government institutions and private or state-aided institutions are not considered Government Institutions.

Subjects & Courses Eligible for KALIA Scholarship:

1. Professional and Technical Graduation Courses:

   - Courses like M.B.B.S, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, B.Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing), PBBSc, B.Sc (Agriculture), BVSc & AH, B.Sc (Horticulture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc (Fisheries Science), B.Sc. (Community Science), B.Tech (Agril. Engg), B.Tech/B.E in State Government Institutes are covered by the KALIA Scholarship.


2. Diploma Courses:

   - Diploma courses such as D. Pharma, DMLT, DMRT, Ophthalmic Assistance/Surgical OPTH Assistance, GNM, ANM, Psychiatric Nursing, Polytechnic & Agri Polytechnic in State Government Institutes fall under the KALIA Scholarship.


3. Trades in Government ITIs:

   - Various trade courses in Government ITIs are also part of the KALIA Scholarship scheme.


Note: The course list is subject to modification based on Government approval.

Benefits of Kalia Scholarship:

1. Financial Coverage:

   - Tuition fees, annual fees, one-time fees, hostel charges, and any other non-refundable fees paid by the student to colleges/universities/institutions (excluding caution money or other refundable amounts) will be directly released to the student's account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).


2. Monthly Mess/Hostel Allowance:

   - Degree students will receive ₹1200 per month, and Diploma/Polytechnic/ITI students will receive ₹1000 per month for ten months towards mess/hostel charges, following the guidelines of the ST & SC Development, Minorities, and BCW Department.


   Note 01: Refunds and penalties in various situations will adhere to the guidelines/modalities of the concerned Department/Institution. Refundable security deposits are not included in the scholarship and must be paid by the student.


   Note 02: The scholarship granted to a student can be canceled if false statements are detected, the student discontinues studies, or if they receive another scholarship.

Documents Required for Kalia Scholarship:


1. Aadhaar Card Copy:

   - Copy of the Aadhaar card for identification.


2. Applicant's Photograph:

   - A recent photograph of the scholarship applicant.


3. Proof of Age:

   - Document verifying the applicant's age.


4. Academic Records:

   - Mark sheets, grade cards, and degrees from previous academic achievements.


5. Residence Certificate:

   - Official document confirming the applicant's residence.


6. Caste Certificate (if applicable):

   - Proof of caste, if applicable.


7. Disability Certificate (if any):

   - Document validating any disability, if present.


8. Income Certificate (if applicable):

   Note 02: The bank account must be solely in the name of the applicant/student, and details such as Bank/Branch name, savings account number, and IFSC code should be provided accurately for a smooth scholarship transfer.

Applicants first need to visit the State Scholarship Website, Government of Odisha.

The homepage will appear on your screen

Here you have to select the option  Apply for Scholarship.

Now a new page will open on your screen, here you have to select the Department, then click on Department Of Agriculture And Farmers Empowerment.

After that select the Scheme called Kalia Scholarship, and fill in the other details.

Now a new page will open on your screen, here you have to enter your Aadhaar number, password, and captcha code.

After this you have to click on the Sign in button, then the scholarship page will open.

Enter the necessary details and all the required documents at the last click on the submit button.
