Odisha's Politics and Odia Film Stars

Here in India, it is pretty common to see a movie star campaigning openly for a political party to gain the limelight in their stardom or in their popularity. Similarly, Political Parties also take interest in getting these stars. Politics and stardom don't mix that well in Hollywood, but the story is different in Bollywood. And now it is a common stuff in our Odia Film Industry "Ollywood".The election is ahead in Odisha and all political parties have already tightened their seat belts in this mass competition to attract popularity and to be in the headlines. In past, legendary Odia film actor & filmmaker Prasanta Nanda joined BJD. Actor Munna Khan, former India Hockey Captain Dilip Tirkey and film Superstar Sidhant Mohapatra also followed in the footsteps of Sri Nanda. Apart from this, Ollywood's 1st Superstar Uttam Mohanty is an active member of the Congress Party.
Recently, Ollywood's current Superstar Anubhav Mohanty joined the BJD party to promote its election campaign as a Youth Icon. We have to cross our fingers to see whether these stars are getting success in politics like films or not.
